Forgiveness without an apology is unconditional love. The gold foil bird cage represents the mind that keeps us trapped in looping thoughts. Once the door opens to forgiveness, the bird (the soul) can break free. Forgiveness of self and forgiveness of others is how to set the soul free like the bird. Forgiveness invites us to find a way to keep our heart open through the hurt, blame and shame and not to close it off. It’s impossible to live with open heart and not experience hurt along the journey.
